HALF DAY WORKSHOP : ROUTE TO BECOME MIEM / PEng - Guidelines and Assessment of Professional Interview (PI/PAE)

Professional Interview is a peer review process comprising an examination on the professional competency of the candidate by Corporate Members of IEM with respect to:
- Grasp and application of engineering fundamentals,
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing,
- Demonstration of ethical judgement in the conduct of all works,
- Ability to accept professional responsibility, and
- Awareness of engineering sustainability, health and safety issues.
The assessment will be based on the following areas:
- Training and Experience Report;
- Technical Report;
- Oral Examination;
- Essay Writings on Technical and Code of Ethics.
The emphasis of the workshop is to guide and assist those qualified candidates to be a potential successful candidate for the Professional interview.

Biodata of Speakers:
Ir. Noorazizi bin Mohd Shamsuddin

Ir. Noorazizi Bin Mohd Samsuddin hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from UTM, Malaysia, in 2000; Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering from UTM,Malaysia in 2004; Master in Mechanical Engineering (Computational Fluid Dynamic)from UTM, Malaysia in 2009 and he is currently pursuing his PhD in the field of Manufacturing Engineering (Bio-Mechanical Engineering) at UTeM, Malaysia. He has vast experience in Mechanical Engineering as academician as well as professional consultant in the field of Mechanical and Manufacturing.
Currently, he is the Vice Chairman of IEM Negeri Sembilan Branch, sub-committees of IEM, Membership Drive and Promotions (MDP), and Chairman Training committee of Technological Association of Malaysia TAM Negeri Sembilan Branch. To date, he has delivered numerous talks on the above topic and conducted a number of professional interviews as organizer at IEM Negeri Sembilan Branch.
Ir. Noorazizi Bin Mohd Samsuddin is a Consultant Engineer at Orthobit Medical Engineering Sdn Bhd, DP Hard Engineering Sdn Bhd and Project Engineer for Bumimaju Engineering Sdn Bhd. Previously, he was a senior lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Polytechnic of Port Dickson and guest lecturer at Faculty of Engineering Technology, Universiti Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM).
Last but not least, he is a highly respectable and reputable professional in the field of Mechanical as Corporate Member of IEM (MEIM), registered Professional Engineer Practising Certificate with BEM (P.Eng)(PEPC), Corporate Member of Technological Association of Malaysia, (MTAM), Associate Asean Engineer (AAE) and Associate Asean Engineering Technologist, (AAET) by AFEO Governing Board (Asean Engineering Register).

IR. PROF. DR. ABU BAKAR BIN MAHAT received his early education in Singapore before continuing his higher education in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. He holds a Master and Doctorate Degrees in the field of Manufacturing Technology from University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), United Kingdom in 1983 and 1987.
He has substantial industrial experience that covers many technical and management functions as well as business development and project implementation. To date, he has successfully managed and completed a number of projects of various capacities. He is very active in providing advisory and consultancy services and representatives to the various private and government agencies such as MARA, SIRIM, CIDB, SMIDEC, IEM, and BEM.
Ir. Dr Abu Bakar Mahat is also an active member of IEM at Negeri Sembilan Branch and at Central level Also, he is an active member of Technological Association Malaysia (TAM). He is currently attached as a Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Nilai University.
Last but not least, Ir. Dr. Abu Bakar Mahat is a highly respectable and reputable academician and professional in the field of Mechanical and Manufacturing. He is a Life Corporate Member of IEM(MIEM), Corporate Member of TAM (MTAM), registered Professional Engineer with BEM (PEng), Corporate Member of Institution of Mechanical Engineer, UK (MIMechE), Chartered Engineer, UK (CEng), Chartered ASEAN Professional Engineer, APEC Engineer and International PE(MY).
