TWO DAYS WORKSHOP : IEM PROFESSIONAL INTERVIEW TRAINING (INTERVIEWER) AND CERTIFICATION WORKSHOP

Professional Interview is a peer review process comprising an examination on the professional competency of the candidate by Corporate Members of IEM with respect to:
- Grasp and application of engineering fundamentals,
- Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing,
- Demonstration of ethical judgement in the conduct of all works,
- Ability to accept professional responsibility, and
- Awareness of engineering sustainability, health and safety issues.
The main objective of the workshop is t o train the Interviewwers/Assessors on the revised PI Process, certify that they can conduct the Professional Interview accordingly. The revision gives an improved version of the existing Professional Interview in that it assesses competency based on evidence; ans uses marking rubrics to minimize subjectivityin assesment. The revised process is closely referenced to the UK Standards for Professional Engineering Competence ( UK SPEC) for Chartered Engineers.
The emphasis of the workshop is to guide and assist those qualified INTERVIEWER to be a potential successful interviewer for the Professional interview.

Biodata of Speakers:
Ir. LEE BOON CHONG
BSc, MSc, DIC, P Eng., C Eng., Int.PE., APEC Eng., ASEAN Eng., FIEM, MIET, MMIM, CCPM, PMP
Ir. Lee Boon Chong has more than 30 years of experience in the industry. He is experienced in leading and managing projects in engineering, telecommunications, construction, information technology and customer relationship management. His industrial experience covers many technical and management functions such as engineering planning, development and operations & maintenance; business planning, operations and re-engineering; training and consultancy; business strategy and competition planning as well as marketing and customer relationship management. Currently, Ir. Lee provides training and consultancy services in engineering and project management.
He is a member ofAccreditation Panel of the Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia, regularlyinvolved in the accreditation of local engineering programmes. He has also servedas member of the Industry Advisory Panel for local institutions of higher learning. Ir. Lee serves IEM in a voluntary capacity as a Vice President, as well as a Member of the IEM Council and Executive Committee, besides chairing the E&Q Standing Committee. He also serves BEM on the Applications Committee.
