Adoption of Lean Systems in Elaminating Waste

Lean is a philosophy about orienting people and systems to deliver a continuous stream of value to the customer by eliminating waste. Following a Lean path, any business in any industry of any size or type can improve itself continuously over a long term period.

Started from Toyota production floor in Japan, now lean has been emerged to various environments such as administration, engineering, maintenance, hospitality, warehousing and banking services. Among the companies that have been practicing lean are Samsung, Boeing, Western Digital, Dell, ABB, Maybank and many more.

By practising lean, several main improvements can be seen such as:   

     - Improve Turn around Time (TAT)

    - Improve utilization of materials, supplies, and resource

    - Improve employee satisfaction (better place to work)

     - Ageing spare parts reduction

     - Avoid purchasing and keeping unnecessary supplies.

     - Reduce unnecessary travelling or motion     

     - Clean and organized workplace

     - Extra storage capacity

     - Improve safety aspects

In this workshop, the participants will be exposed to the Lean concept, what are the current Lean tools available and how to implement Lean in workplace effectively.

Introduction to basic lean concept

11.30am - 12.45am

Session 2

Learn to see the wastes (MUDA,MURA,MURI) in workplace and continuously eliminates it.

12.45am - 2.00pm Lunch
2.00pm - 3.30pm

Session 3

Generalinformation about the Lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Asaichi, Gemba, JIT, Vendor Manage Inventory, Pull System, Poka Yoke and Product Postponement

3.30pm - 3.45pm Tea Break
3.45pm - 5.00pm

Session 4

Lean by performing Value Stream Mapping.

Speakers

Biodata of Speakers:

 mohdfadzilbinharun

Mohd Fadzil bin Harun  (MBA (UUM), BBA Hons, UITM, Dip. In Accountancy (PUO), Certified Trainer – (HRDF)

Mr Mohd Fadzil earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Universiti Utara Malaysia. He has more than 20 years working experience in multi-national Japanese, British, Switzerland, American and local companies. He possesses ISO 9000 Lead Assessor Certification and a Certified Trainer under HRDF. Currently, he is also a part-time lecturer at local Universities for Lean subjects and Supply Chain Management subjects. He experienced in TS16949, ISO14000, IS09000 and lead the implementation of X-docking and Lean for companies in Malaysia and Indonesia. His current Lean implementation project is at Airod Aerospace Technology.
