Success Factor For Sustainable Product Design - Case Study: Electric Car
In the electric car industry, the service component assumes considerable importance and is a relevant factor in purchasing decisions. Therefore, proper management of the “Product-Service System” (PSS) is essential. This technical talk aims to
1) identify the main sub-systems of the PSS in the electric car industry and
2) identify the critical success factors (CSFs) in marketing.
Clean transport solutions such as e-mobility powered by RE are being promoted by public authorities worldwide. E-mobility presents technological and behavioral challenges and opportunities for systems governance at organizational, household, and individual levels. The technological challenges include the EV use category, the sizing of the electric battery, how it is recharged, how the EV is integrated into a smart grid via ICT as well as smart mobility via Intelligent Transport Solutions, and V2G-enabled capability. Overcoming the challenges includes using EVs to support the energy infrastructure by smart charging and enabled bidirectional charging with (service and mobility) design and CE principles.

More than 30 years of working experience in the high volume and high-speed manufacturing industry. Holding various job functions consisting of commissioning of the machine, designing a product, managing production line, quality control, factory innovation, purchasing, leading ESH and Pant Facility.
- Ph.D. holder and had successfully established a lean product design methodology.
- Immediate Past Chairman of IEM Negeri Sembilan Branch, Committee Member of TAM NS & Director of Samsung SDIEM
- Professional Engineer with Practising Certificate
Ir. Dr. Oh Seong Por has written more than 30 articles and published them in the Institution of Engineers Malaysia, JURUTERA bulletin, and Board of Engineer Malaysia, Ingenieur magazine.
He has also been appointed as industry assessor for the engineering student final year project of University Malaya (UM)
